The National Applied AI Consortium (NAAIC) partnered with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to deliver the AI Practitioner Faculty Training program, equipping community college faculty with the skills and resources to teach foundational AI. The program combined live virtual instruction with self-paced coursework, preparing participants for the AWS Certified AI Practitioner exam.
The training included:
- Live Virtual Sessions: 3 instructor-led classes, 2 hours each (6 hours total)
- Self-Paced Learning: Digital course materials, practice exercises, and exam prep (18 hours, 37 minutes)
- Total Professional Development: 24 hours and 37 minutes
Faculty Outcomes:
- 99 faculty participated
- 65 completed the program and received an AWS certification exam voucher
Participants also gained access to AWS teaching resources to integrate into their courses, expanding AI learning opportunities for students. This initiative supports NAAIC’s mission to build a nationwide network of AI-ready educators through training, mentorship, and curriculum development.
