Carnegie Mellon University's AI User course
Looking to build AI literacy on your campus without needing advanced math or coding? Join us for an upcoming info session featuring AI User, a project-based AI curriculum developed by the TEEL Lab at Carnegie Mellon University.
Designed for community college instructors, administrators, and leadership, AI User trains students to become informed, critical users of AI technologies, preparing them to navigate and evaluate the AI tools shaping their lives and careers.
What you’ll learn in this session:
- Overview of the 8-unit AI User curriculum and its real-world, experiential learning model
- How to access instructor support through the Sail() platform, which integrates with Canvas, D2L, Blackboard, and Moodle
- Details about the required 20-hour professional development for instructors
- How your institution can pilot the curriculum for free through the NSF AI-SDM grant
This is an excellent opportunity for colleges looking to rapidly and responsibly integrate AI literacy across disciplines, especially for students without a technical background.
Date: January 21, 2026
Time: 1:00 - 2:00 PM EST | Zoom
